From the launch of the project to the National Symposium in December 2024, ValuED has marked significant progress toward building an education system that reflects equity, inclusion, and democratic values at all levels of education in Kosovo.
The June 2024 and December 2024 newsletters summarise the key developments of the project’s first phase, including:
The official launch of ValuED, co-funded by the European Union’s Erasmus+ Programme, marking the first structural reform project of this kind in Kosovo.
National and comparative analyses on value-based and inclusive education, which lay the foundation for reforms in teacher development policies and practices.
Main findings from six national studies involving teachers, school directors, institutions, and stakeholders from across Kosovo.
The National Symposium of December 2024, where more than 100 participants from MESTI, universities, and civil society organisations discussed recommendations for the national framework on value-based education.
FEduTalk and KICER 2024, featuring expert presentations from Prof. Dr. Anne Frenzel (LMU Munich), Dr. Heike Wendt, and Dr. Agnieszka Czejkowska (University of Graz) on ethics, emotions, and inclusion in education.
These developments represent the beginning of a long-term transformative process that will culminate in the development of the National Framework for Value-Based Education, the creation of teacher-training modules, and the implementation of pilot school interventions aimed at strengthening democratic and inclusive school climates.
